Weeks after announcing she would end her presidential bid, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann says she’ll run for a fourth congressional term, according to the Star Tribune.
“I’m running in the 6th Congressional District,” she told the Star Tribune. “The people are very positive about the service that I’ve given them. I’ve gotten tremendous response from the people all across the 6th District.”
She dismissed a recent poll suggesting most Minnesotans would like to see her step down from the House of Representatives, emphasizing her role in Republican opposition to President Barack Obama’s health care plan.
The district Bachmann’srunning for will likely be different than the one she’ held. In February, a court-appointed redistricting panel will release a map redrawing district lines for Minnesota’s eight congressional districts according to data from the 2010 Census.
