We applaud the decision of the Minneapolis City Council to require public notification before allowing military training exercises.

Acknowledging distress that certain residents experienced from military helicopters flying overhead at odd hours, we feel that it’s common courtesy to notify those who live nearby that they’ll have a loud disruption in their lives. This will allow affected residents to plan accordingly, which seems like a fair compromise.
