Nothing pairs with the beginning of a new school year like a few freshly-pressed albums. The newly released work of artists new and old serves as a soundtrack to fall and makes the deceivingly long walk between West Bank and East Bank slightly more enjoyable.

That good news is this fall is packed with exciting album releases.

The charming Lana Del Rey will release her fourth album September 18th. The album is titled “Honeymoon.” According to Rolling Stone, it is laced with an old-fashioned charm, featuring a cover of Nina Simone’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” and a ballad called “Salvatore” that Rolling Stone’s Jon Blistein called “a glamorous, sensual new ode.”

In an early interview with Billboard, Del Rey said, “It's growing into something I really like. I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It's been good.”

New Order is back again with “Music Complete”, which will be released September 25th. According to Pitchfork, this will be their first album without bassist Peter Hook.

The album art is a nod to their 80’s fame. According to Rolling Stone, the design comes from Peter Saville, who has been working with the band since they were Joy Division, fronted by the late Ian Curtis. The album expected to follow their signature 80’s sound, adapted for the new age.

The Decemberists will release a five-track EP October 9th called “Florasongs”. According to Pitchfork, the EP is comprised of songs that didn’t make it on to “What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World”, released earlier this year.

Based on the preview, the five tracks must be some pretty impressive rejects.
