Minnesota’s men’s hockey team’s game against Minnesota State-Mankato at 7:37 p.m on Jan. 14 will be played at the Xcel Energy Center.
The game, originally scheduled as the first of a two-game series at the Midwest Wireless Civic Center in Mankato, Minn., was moved to St. Paul after the Xcel Energy Center contacted the Mavericks as part of its event development initiatives.
Minnesota State-Mankato Athletics Director Kevin Buisman said in a release that the team moved the game to St. Paul to market itself to new fans, including approximately 20,000 alumni living in the Twin Cities area.
Mavericks season-ticket holders, as well as fans who already purchased game tickets, will receive replacement tickets in the mail. All other tickets are $23.75.
The second game of the series will be played in Jan. 15 in Mankato, as scheduled.
