A University of Minnesota IT specialist was arrested for alleged possession of child pornography last week, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Christopher Pfoff, 28, was arrested by Minneapolis police March 1, when officers located a computer in Minneapolis that was being used to download and distribute child pornography, according to the police report.

A University administrator told the Star Tribune that, to his knowledge, no University cell phones or computers Pfoff could access had child pornography on them.

The University said in a statement that they are aware of the charges filed against Pfoff.

“The arrest was brought to the University’s attention on March 1 by the Child Exploitation Task Force. We take allegations of this nature seriously. We have not yet had an opportunity to discuss his employment status with him,” the statement reads.
