The Gophers will try to win their third-consecutive Big Ten game today against Indiana at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
Minnesota (6-2, 2-2 Big Ten) plays the Hoosiers (3-4, 1-2 Big Ten) in the first meeting between the two programs since 2008. The Gophers won that matchup 16-7 at the Metrodome.
Minnesota is coming off its biggest win in recent history, having upset then-No. 25 Nebraska last Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium. The win was the Gophers' first over a ranked opponent since they beat No. 24 Iowa in 2010.
Sophomore quarterback Philip Nelson threw a touchdown and ran for two more and junior running back David Cobb ran for 138 yards last week as the Gophers outmuscled Nebraska at the line of scrimmage. Minnesota's defense forced two Nebraska turnovers, including a game-sealing interception with less than a minute remaining.
Indiana had a bye last Saturday after losing to Michigan on Oct. 19. The Hoosiers have scored more than 28 points in eight-straight games dating back to last season. A pair of sophomore quarterbacks — Nate Sudfeld and Tre Roberson — lead a high-powered, quick-strike Hoosiers offense that has averaged more than 42 points per game this season.
