Protests of CongressâÄô proposed $700 billion bailout for financial firms have been planned for Thursday evening in the Twin Cities. Demonstrators will gather at the corner of 4th and Broadway streets in St. Paul and at the Federal Reserve in downtown Minneapolis. Both events will begin at 5 p.m. University law professor Prentiss Cox is scheduled to speak at the Minneapolis protest. Cox called the $700 billion bill âÄúoutrageousâÄù in a press release. The Twin Cities protests are two of more than 200 events planned by the group True Majority. On its website, the group argues that the bailout gives financial firms a giant windfall at taxpayer expense.
