Georgia prosecutors have charged two University of Minnesota professors of fraud for being on two universities payrolls simultaneously.
Fancois Sainfort and Julie Jacko were alledgedly receiving payments from both the University and Georgia Tech and have been charged with conspiracy to defraud, theft by taking and making false statements. The two are married.
Jacko is a leader in the field of health informatics, the study of using computer-generated health care data for decision making. Sainfort was the head of the Division of Health Policy and Management at the School of Public Health before the scandal came to light. He resigned from that position in September of 2008.
