A woman was molested and assaulted on the University of Minnesota’s West Bank on Saturday night, police said.
The woman, who is not affiliated with the University, was loading her bike into a car around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Riverside Avenue and 19th Avenue Southeast, according to a crime alert sent to the University community.
The suspect grabbed the victim’s breasts and genitals over her clothing, the alert said. He struck her in the face when she resisted, then he fled.
This is the fourth incident on or near campus to trigger a crime alert this summer. A rash of crime on and around campus last fall has caused University officials to step up security around the school.
