Three people, at least two of them University of Minnesota students, are in the hospital after a 2 a.m. hit-and-run Friday near Dinkytown, according to the Star Tribune.
All three were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Two women, both Univeristy students, are expected to survive, Minneapolis police Sgt. Steve McCarty said. An unidentified man is in critical condition.
The vehicle was heading west on Fifth Street – an eastbound one way – when it struck the pedestrians on the sidewalk near the corner of 12th Avenue.
McCarty did not have additional information on the vehicle.
One of the victims was 21-year-old student Sarah Bagley. Bagley’s father, Kilmer, told the Star Tribune his daughter suffered a concussion and an injured elbow and left knee.
Bagley said the other woman struck by the car was his daughter’s friend and was also a University student. The two didn’t know the man injured in the accident, Bagley said.
