The Gophers (11-5-3, 7-3-1 Big Ten) failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament Monday, ending their season.
The Gophers’ 2017 season ended on Oct. 29 when they lost to Wisconsin (13-5-2, 6-3-2 Big Ten) 2-0 in the Big Ten quarterfinal at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. Wisconsin lost in the Big Ten semifinal to Northwestern on Nov. 3 but qualified for the NCAA tournament.
During the season, forward Sydney Squires scored a team-leading 14 goals, and forward April Bockin led the team with 12 assists.
Last season, North Carolina State eliminated Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Nov. 12, 2016.
The 2017 women’s soccer NCAA final will be on Dec. 3 at Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
