Students are being told to use caution after an attempted robbery on the University of Minnesota campus late Thursday night.
The alert was sent to students just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, saying the suspect was in a dark blue hoodie, other dark clothing and “implied he had a weapon.” The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection near Nicholson and Eddy Halls.
The alert was classified as an emergency. This means the situation poses an immediate threat or imminent danger and requires the community to take immediate action, according to the University’s website.
While the University has seen an uptick in alerts this year, most have not been on campus.
