Junior Colton Iverson has been granted a release from the Minnesota men’s basketball team, according to a report from James Cimburek of the Yankton Press & Dakotan in South Dakota.
Cimburek cited an email from Iverson’s father as the source of the news, which has yet to be confirmed by the Gophers. Iverson grew up in Yankton.
Early Friday evening a spokesman for the basketball team replied “not that I know of” in a text asking about Iverson being released. The 6-foot-10 post player has one year of eligibility remaining.
