A man was shot in the back in the bathroom of a Minneapolis public library Thursday. Police have yet to find the unidentified shooter, whose shot paralyzed the victim, according to the Star Tribune.
A library employee found the 42-year-old victim on the ground of the bathroom at the Franklin Community Library. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
Minneapolis police Lt. Mike Fossum said the victim was a "totally innocent victim in an unprovoked attack" that has a bullet lodged in his spine and is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center.
The shooter approached the victim, identified as a homeless man who moved to Minneapolis about two years ago, while he was brushing his teeth.
Fossum added that both the suspect and the victim, as well as a witness, were regular visitors of the library.
The police will the witnesses as well as video surveillance from the library to help find the man responsible.
