CULTURE TO CONSUME
Listen to this: “Take Me Apart” by Kelela
Kelela’s newly released album, which came out on Friday, is one of many about love, but she explores it with her own distinctive sound. Her breezy voice effortlessly fills the 13 pop / R&B tracks in a way that will keep you wanting to listen to it over, and over, and over again.
Watch this: A Horror Movie
October is horror movie season, so kick back and cuddle up for some scares. While there are new horror movies coming out like “Happy Death Day,” it’s also a good time to delve into the genre’s past. Dig up classics like “Psycho,” “Nosferatu, A Symphony of Horror” or “Rosemary’s Baby” to see the evolution of the horror film.
Do this: Carve a Pumpkin
It’s about that time, Halloween enthusiasts. The weekend of Friday the 13th is the perfect occasion to go pumpkin picking and carve up a jack-o’-lantern. Get artistic and have a competition with your friends to see who can carve the best one. Bonus points if you cover the seeds in salt and olive oil and roast them.
