The Univeristy of Minnesota was 17th on the AP’s list of top college and university fundraisers in fiscal year 2008.

Topping the list was Stanford with $785.04 million, outpacing second place Harvard by over $100 million.

Another story written in USA Today on Wednesday said charitable contributions to colleges and universities hit $31.6 billion in 2008.
