There’s nothing sweeter than watching a movie outside in the summer. Actually, there might be — catching a flick outside in the summer with your boo is pretty sweet. There’s darkness, the great outdoors and snacks. What else do you need?
Maybe a local band or two. Night Moves, Rogue Valley and Brute Heart are all slated to play for the movies and music series, themed “In Dreams” this year. The prolific and legendary Zimbabwean act Oliver Mtukudzi and the Black Spirits joins the lineup of local bands. The bands have been paired up with four dark and mystical flicks, three of which came out before 1960.
The bands start at 7 p.m. and the movies kick in at nightfall, around 8:45 p.m. The first three will be at Loring Park and the last will be at Walker’s Open Field. It’s free. Sounds dreamy — at least dreamier than the Rosedale AMC, right?
