Citing race-related complaints, students staged a walkout Friday afternoon at the 1,800-student school, the Star Tribune reported.
Students said the walkout was in response to a culturally insensitive learning environment and what they said was an excessive suspensions of Latino and black students.
A YouTube video shows a large group of students walking out of the school. In the video, students discuss why it was students were protesting.
Earlier in the day, Principal Patty Johnson held a "listening session" with students about their complaints and had asked them not to walk out.
The school said statistics on suspensions of students were not immediately available.
