Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are not your parentsâÄô comedians. Their non sequitur and absurdist style has gained them a cult following amongst the denizens of late night television. The stoner-friendly comedy show consistently features a wide array of notable guests, including John C. Reilly, Zach Galifianakis and even LeVar Burton. Their approach to sketch comedy can be bewildering or hilarious, depending on your point of view. ItâÄôs brought them success and theyâÄôre capitalizing on it with their 17-date âÄúChrimbus SpectacularâÄù tour.
They were extremely close-lipped about what will happen at the show, however.
âÄúWeâÄôre not giving away anything about our show. WeâÄôre telling you weâÄôre not going to tell you anything,âÄù Heidecker said. Perhaps this is part of their shtick. Tim and Eric arenâÄôt exactly known for following the rules of mainstream comedy, but thatâÄôs also the appeal. âÄúTim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!âÄù is refreshing because of its ridiculous take on comedy that doesnâÄôt care what others think and mostly just messes with you.
As little as is known about the upcoming show, there are certain things available to the public. Tim and Eric will be bringing in the majority of their usual guests, including John C. Reilly, and will be opening up with comedian Neil Hamburger, who has started a spin off to âÄúTim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!âÄù called âÄúThe New Big Ball with Neil Hamburger.âÄù
Tim and Eric will also be performing in a satirical rock band called Pusswhip Banggang. (This is actually not a strange step for them, since before âÄúTim and Eric Awesome ShowâÄù they were both in bands). Besides that, the only juicy nugget known is that, âÄúWorf will be showing up.âÄù
âÄúTim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!âÄù is polarizing because some people call it non-comedy while others find its lack of context or explanation hilarious. The men behind it are probably much the same way.
âÄúI wish I could explain this show to people, but itâÄôs just who we are. We just make the show that we want to make,âÄù Heidecker said.
Along with the tour, Tim and Eric are in production of a movie called âÄúTim and EricâÄôs Billion Dollar Movie,âÄù which will be released in 2011. They were also satirically reticent about this upcoming endeavor.
âÄúDo you want us to give away everything? Ok well, itâÄôs going to be a hilarious comedy filled with a moderate amount of oofs and goofs,âÄù Heidecker said.
âÄúTim and Eric Awesome Tour, Great Job! Chrimbus Spectacular 2010âÄù will most likely work for fans of Tim and Eric or those looking to see something absurd. Others just might not get it.
