Wednesday marks the third annual “Give to the Max Day” in Minnesota. The one-day “charity blitz,” the Strib reports is a 24-hour charity event where Minnesotans across the state can donate to their favorite charities. The event ends at midnight Wednesday.
The two previous events gathered $10 and $14 million, a national record.
At locations all around Minnesota, citizens are gathering to donate. The HUGE Improve Theatre in Minneapolis is hosting an all-day Improv-A-Thon, there are stations set up to donate in the Mall of America rotunda and people can donate directly at givemn.org.
The top three charities in both categories––large and small non-profits––will receive prizes of $15,000, $10,000 and $7,000.
