Friday: MGMT
I don’t think I’ve heard from MGMT since my “Skins U.K.” phase in 2011. So where the heck did this come from? While the band put out a brand new album this year, it’s top three songs on Spotify are still “Kids,” “Electric Feel” and “Time to Pretend.” So … go relive your 2011 “Skins” phase I guess? And please let me know what the vibe in there is like.

Saturday: “All-Age Open Studio”
The studio’s Facebook says it best: “We believe that everyone should have a place where they can experience the transformative power of art and the healing potential held in connection and community.” They’ll have coffee and numerous tools available for use. Have a favorite medium? Want to experiment? Go make something regardless!

When: 9 a.m. – Noon
How much: $10
Sunday: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
Honestly, the biggest dream right now is for it to be midsummer. But that’s the beauty of theater — we can pretend! Spend a peaceful Sunday culturing yourself with a little Shakespeare. Put on by some marvelously talented students, you’ll get lost enough in the fairy world to forget it’s only March.
Where: Rarig Center, 330 21st Ave. S., Minneapolis
When: 2 p.m.
How much: $7 – $17
CULTURE TO CONSUME
Eat this: Brussels sprouts
Every trendy restaurant I’ve visited recently has Brussels on the menu — they’re having a moment! And while the in-house takes are fantastic, they are oh so easy to do right at home. Halve them, toss them in olive oil (with honey! turmeric! garlic! anchovies! whatever sounds fab!) and bake at 450 for 15 minutes or until they’re just how you like.
Apply this: Hyaluronic acid serum
I’m not going to pretend I didn’t hear this tip from “Queer Eye”s Jonathan Van Ness. I’m no esthetician, but wouldn’t you also trust him with anything beauty related? Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in our bodies and absorbs 1000 times its weight in water, keeping your skin nice and glow-y while you wait for the snow to melt away.
Watch this: The Oscars
I’ve seen all but two Best Picture nominees this year, and the selection is superb. Will highest actor honors go to Timothée or Daniel? Will Warren Beatty reappear? How will Sufjan Stevens’ Sufjan Stevens-ness carry over on the Academy’s stage? Will Jimmy Kimmel find a way to make a “Shape of Water” joke we haven’t already heard? We’d better watch and find out.
