Governor Mark Dayton underwent a procedure Wednesday to help heal a torn muscle in his left hip area, according to news sources.
The procedure, called a platelet rich plasma injection, took place at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and lasted about 80 minutes, according to a Star Tribune report.
The governor's office said Dayton will have limited mobility in the two weeks following the procedure and he won't attend public events during that time, according to the Star Tribune.
The 66-year-old governor injured his hip over the summer while rushing down stairs to get to a DFL Party beanbag toss fundraiser when he fell and landed on his left leg, according to a June Minnesota Public Radio article. He limited his physical activity after the fall, but the hip wasn't healing on its own.
