Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams take on Florida at 4 p.m. today in Gainesville, Fla.
The men’s squad is coming off a 190-101 win over Big Ten foe Iowa on Oct. 20, an event that saw junior David Plummer win both of his individual events and a relay event to take home Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors.
It was the fourth time in his career Plummer has won the award.
The women’s squad also dispatched of Iowa last week, beating the Hawkeyes 201-91 on Oct. 20 thanks to a pair of wins by sophomore Christine Jennings.
Sophomore diver Brianna Hubbard won both of the diving events, while freshman Alexandra Barstad finished second in both.
Men’s and women’s golf
The men’s golf team begins its final event of the fall season Sunday at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Minnesota is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Big Ten/Pac 10 challenge last week and will open the event against Georgia.
The Gophers are the 15th seed, while the Bulldogs are the second seed.
The women’s golf team will also be playing in its final event of the fall season begining on Sunday.
Minnesota travels to DeBary, Fla., for the DeBary Intercollegiate after finishing 13th at the Georgia State Invitational nearly two weeks ago.
Rowing
Coming off its best season in program history, the rowing team opens its fall season Sunday at the Head of the Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
It would be the Gophers’ second regatta of the season. But their first, the Head of the Mississippi, was canceled.
