The University of Minnesota selected FieldTurf for installation at the TCF Bank Stadium, Athletics Director Joel Maturi and FieldTurf CEO Joe Fields announced today, according to a press release on PRWeb. "When we selected the field for TCF Bank Stadium, our goal was to install the best possible playing surface for our student-athletes," Maturi said. "Our players tested several options and the overwhelming consensus was that FieldTurf was the best." FieldTurf is the same grass the Gophers played on at the Metrodome and is used at more than 60 NCAA universities for their home games. FieldTurf is the global market leader in terms of synthetic sports fields with over 3,000 fields installed, the release states.
