Gophers quarterback Philip Nelson is questionable for Saturday's game against San Jose State, according to a depth chart released Friday.
Nelson strained a hamsting early in the second quarter during the Gophers' 29-12 win over Westerin Illinois last Saturday. His backup, redshirt freshman Mitch Leidner, completed seven of eight passes for 105 yards.
Head coach Jerry Kill said on Tuesday that Nelson was 65-70 percent healthy. The sophomore from Mankato, Minn., started the first three games of the season, throwing for 245 yards and rushing for 221 more.
Tight end Alex Bisch and linebacker Nick Rallis will also sit out with injuries, the depth chart said.
The Gophers (3-0) play San Jose State (1-1) at 11 a.m. Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.
