Junior diver Maggie Keefer qualified for the NCAA championships Tuesday at the NCAA Zone D diving meet in Houston.
Keefer placed second in the 1-meter diving competition Tuesday. She is the 15th member of the Gophers women's swimming and diving team to qualify for the championships, which start on March 21 in Indianapolis.
Keefer qualified for the NCAA championships in each of her first two seasons at Minnesota. She earned Big Ten Diver of the Championships honors at the Big Ten championships last month.
Keefer is the only Minnesota women’s diver to qualify for the NCAA championships thus far. Junior Sarah McCrady finished sixth in 1-meter diving Tuesday, and sophomore Katy Etterman and freshman Jessica Ramberg finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
The NCAA Zone D qualifying meet runs through Wednesday.
