Gophers grab top spot in both polls

The Gophers men's hockey team's sweep of Michigan State last weekend impressed a lot of people, including the voters in the poll.

Minnesota jumped ahead of Boston College to take the top spot in this week’s poll and received 46 of 50 first-place votes. The Eagles dropped to No. 3 in the poll after losing on the road to Northeastern last weekend. Minnesota’s WCHA rival North Dakota moved into the No. 2 slot.

The Gophers moved to No. 1 in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll last week and now hold the top spot in both major hockey polls.
