The University of Minnesota Opera Theatre kicked off its new season Thursday night with a performance of Benjamin BrittenâÄôs The Rape of Lucretia. The opera is being billed as âÄúan operatic exposé of sexual and cultural violence set amidst the backdrop of imperialist war.âÄù Performances are scheduled for the rest of the weekend from Friday through Sunday night at Ted Mann Concert Hall.
