Greetings State of Hockey, a couple of notes for you before the puck drops on the Minnesota vs. St. Cloud State game this afternoon.
1) Freshman center Nick Bjugstad came down with mononucleosis between games and is out for two weeks, according to a team spokesman.
2) Lucia shook up the lines big time between Friday and today. Looks like he’s trying to spread Minnesota’s scoring weapons around a bit. Mike Hoeffel moves from the first to second line and Pat White takes his place, so it’s Erik Haula centering White and Jay Barriball on the first line and Nate Condon between Hoeffel and Jake Hansen on the second. Jacob Cepis drops to the third line, which Taylor Matson centers in Bjugstad’s absence; Zach Budish is at right wing on the third line. Fourth line is Jared Larson, Nico Sacchetti and Joe Miller (his first appearance of the season). D pairs are Seth Helgeson and Cade Fairchild, Aaron Ness and Mark Alt, and Kevin Wehrs and Jake Parenteau (his first career game).
Today’s game is on FSN, enjoy!
