Highly touted recruit Wesley Washington attended Friday night’s Midnight Madness and said he hopes to enroll at the University in time for the second semester.
“It’s not official yet,” Washington said. “I am still awaiting the results of my test.”
After taking a standardized test last week, Washington is expected to learn the results in mid-November.
The guard originally enrolled at the University for the fall but was not granted full admission.
Washington said he will not take classes anywhere else and is still debating whether to stay in the Twin Cities or return to his native California for the remainder of the fall semester.
If Washington is admitted for the second semester, he would only miss, at most, nine games.
“I don’t wish this experience on anyone,” Washington said. “I just want to go and cry about the whole thing.”
