Two officials from the Pakistan Embassy will speak to the University’s Pakistani Student Association today at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Student Center.

The speakers are Pakistan’s deputy chief of mission to the United States, Mohammad Sadiq, and Pakistan Counselor of Community Affairs Hikmatullah Khattak.

The officials are traveling from Washington D.C. to the Twin Cities to meet with the Pakistani community and learn about their concerns, said Abdul Basit, Pakistani Student Association president. The speakers will also address issues facing Pakistani students.

This is the Twin Cities Pakistani community’s first large-scale event, Basit said.
