After a 64-62 loss to Winona State on Wednesday, the Gophers women’s basketball is set to take on Minnesota-Duluth. It’s almost time for the tip as starters are introduced. For the Gophers: Ohm, Voigt, Ellis-Milan, Buford and McCoy For the Bulldogs: Even, Booker, Hewitt, Miller and Mayry 13:55 First Half: After a slow first few minutes, the Gophers are beginning to pull away. It’s 16-4 behind a few 3-pointers and a 3-point play by Jackie Voigt. End of first half: In a battle of turnovers, the Gophers are staying on top with strong defense and streaky shooting as they head to the locker room holding a 42-20 lead. Minnesota is winning the turnover battle, 20-11, but the second half will likely see a little more ball security as players are turning the ball over on both sides of the court. Both teams have made second chance possibilities, but the Bulldogs haven’t been able to close when pulling down offensive boards. 12:14 Second Half: The Bulldogs continue to turn the ball over and stall on offense as the Gophers capitalize. Minnesota has opened up a 40-point lead and appear poised to forget Wednesday’s loss. Check back for live updates from the Barn.
