The Nov. 1 letter in the Minnesota Daily, âÄúThe University does not advocate homeopathy,âÄù from the communications director of the Center for Spirituality & Healing, Tony Baisley states that since homeopathy is supported by scientific evidence, the University of Minnesota does not advocate for it in any way.
Unfortunately, this is not the case.
The Center for Spirituality & Healing has at least three homeopaths on staff according to their website: Jacob Mirman, Paula Jelinek and Karen Lawson. As an institution of higher learning, itâÄôs important for the University to be critical of pseudoscience and to take a scientific standpoint with regards to all issues, especially medical practices.
Simply put, if the University did not support homeopathy, it would not have hired homeopaths.
