In addition to the 14,000 files of Fairview Health Services patients contained on the hard drive of a stolen laptop, nearly 3,000 patients of North Memorial health system are also affected, according to a Pioneer Press article.
The North Memorial patient files only contained names, record numbers, and some clinical information, according to the article. The majority of Fairview patient files contained names, addresses, social security numbers, and patient records related to charges and reimbursements, said Lois Dahl, information privacy director for Fairview.
North Memorial sent letters to about 2,800 patients affected by the breach in security, the article said.
