The Minnesota men’s rugby club team will be in action at noon on Saturday coming off a rough weekend at the All-Minnesota tournament.
The Gophers lost in the first round of the tournament to St. Cloud, 32-12. The two played to a virtual tie in a scrimmage earlier in the season.
Now the Gophers are hoping to advance to the Midwest Collegiate Championships, which they could have done by winning the tournament last weekend. The championships are similar to regional tournaments held in NCAA-sponsored events.
Minnesota is waiting on a bid to the tourney held later this month. In the meantime, they’ll face St. Thomas Saturday at the St. Paul Athletic Field, located off the corner of Larpenteur and Cleveland Ave.
