The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has confirmed Wisconsin’s high job creation numbers released by Gov. Scott Walker without federal approval, according to the Washington Post.
Walker’s administration announced job numbers for Wisconsin unusually early. The bureau is scheduled to publish the latest job numbers three weeks after the recall election between Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Barrett has doubted the early numbers, accusing Walker of “cooking the books” to his benefit just days before the election, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"I'm waiting for the official numbers from the bureau of labor statistics," Barrett said.
Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development spokesman John Dipko has confirmed that with the bureau’s confirmation, the official numbers will be published on the department’s website on Friday.
