Justin Cobbs, from Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, Calif., became the second member of the Gophers basketball 2009 class when he gave a verbal commitment Saturday night, according to recruiting website GopherIllustrated.com. As a junior this season, Cobbs averaged 17 points and eight assists per game, and will be the likely successor of current sophomore Al Nolen Jr, as the Gophers have no true point guards in this year’s incoming class. Cobbs joins forward Royce White of Hopkins in the 2009 class.
