A man was robbed in front of an ATM in Dinkytown early Thursday morning.
While withdrawing money from the U.S. Bank ATM at 14th Avenue and Fourth Street Southeast, the victim, 19, was grabbed by a man who demanded his money, University of Minnesota Police Chief Greg Hestness said in a crime alert sent out to the University community Thursday afternoon.
The suspect did not use a weapon and the victim, who is not affiliated with the University, was not hurt during the altercation.
After taking the money, the suspect fled west down Fourth Street Southeast.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old black male, between five-feet-five inches and five-feet-ten inches tall, of medium build. He was wearing a grey jacket and a black winter hat.
