The contingent of Lisa Mickelson, Shani Marks, Rachel Schutz and Kou Luogon captured the conference title in a time of 3:46.22. This is the first time Minnesota has won a conference relay title.

Men’s track

Junior Will McComb was one of Minnesota’s athletes named first-team All-Big Ten following the Big Ten Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships in Champaign, Ill., last weekend. Without previously competing in the event this season, McComb won the 5,000-meter race.

Both of Minnesota’s relay teams were also named first-team All-Big Ten. Toby Henkels, Adam Steele, Zach Edmonson and Martin Robeck ran on the distance medley team that took the conference title in a time of 9:52.77.

Mikael Jakobsson, Andy Wohlin, Steele and Mitch Potter were

members of the first-place 4×400-meter relay that clocked in at 3:12.83. This is the first time in Gopher history that Minnesota has won the 4×400 relay title or captured two relay titles in the same indoor championship.

In addition to their relay honors, Potter and Steele earned individual first-team honors. Potter finished first in the 400 meters with a time of 47.14, while Steele won the 600 meters in 1:18.94. Jakobsson finished behind Steele in the 400 meters with a time of 47.52 to earn second-team All-Big Ten honors.
