Minnesota’s soccer coach Sue Montagne has announced the signing of Courtney Pollock of Louisville, Kent., to a national letter of intent.
Pollock was a four-time starter at defender for Assumption High School. She earned academic all-state four times, first-team all-state honors and was a second-team all-state selection for Assumption in 1997.
Pollock also competed in track, where she was all-conference and competed in the Louisville Meet of Champions twice, competing in the 300-meter hurdles.
She is a National Honor Society member and has been accepted to the Carlson School of Management.
Pollock is the fifth member of Montagne’s 1999 recruiting class. Joining Pollock will be two players from Littleton, Colo., defender Meghan Jones and forward Liz Wagner. Jordan Bieler from Redmond, Wash., was brought in to solidify the midfield position for the Gophers.
Defender Katherine Arndt comes to the team as the only recruit from Minnesota. Arndt attended Bloomington Kennedy High School and is from Bloomington, Minn.
