Chinese officials denied any involvement with a series of U.S. hacking attacks, news sources report.
Recently, a Virginia-based security company, Mandiant, filed a report accusing the People's Liberation Army as being the most likely source of a series of attacks on multiple industries, Reuters reports.
But Chinese officials say these claims are false.
"The report, in only relying on linking IP addresses to reach a conclusion the hacking attacks originated from China, lacks technical proof," said Geng Yansheng, a spokesman for China's Ministry of National Defense, CNN reports.
U.S. leaders, who have been voicing their concerns to high-ranking Chinese officials, are not convinced by China's Wednesday statement.
"We have repeatedly raised our concerns at the highest levels about cybertheft with senior Chinese officials, including in the military, and we will continue to do so," White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said Tuesday, CNN reports.
