After ending the regular season with six straight team losses, the Gophers women’s tennis team saw its free-fall continue Thursday, this time costing the team its post-season.
Minnesota entered the Big Ten Tournament the conference’s No. 9 seed and faced familiar for No. 8 Wisconsin.
The Gophers were looking for revenge after falling to the Badgers less than two weeks ago, but Wisconsin easily bested Minnesota 4-0.
After winning the doubles point, the Badgers took the first two singles matches in straight sets, clinching the victory.
With the win, Wisconsin will now face top-ranked Michigan Friday.
