Thank you for publishing an article about the University of MinnesotaâÄôs Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program earlier this month. Finding a matching donor to help treat diseases like lymphoma or leukemia can be one in a million, especially for minorities. This is because minorities are underrepresented in blood donor databases. The PresidentâÄôs Distinguished Faculty Mentor Program Student Organization is hosting a free bone marrow testing drive for minorities from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5. If you found out you could help save a life, would you? I strongly encourage students to stop by the table in Coffman, even if only to receive information and raise awareness of this issue.
