The Minnesota Vikings will begin renovating TCF Bank Stadium this week and will have the stadium's turf removed by Friday, according to a tweet from the University's TCF Bank Stadium Twitter account.
The Vikings will install new turf and a new field heating system as well as more storage space, concession upgrades and about 2,000 temporary bleacher seats, according to a team release.
The features are part of a $6.6 million renovation the Vikings are undertaking as they prepare to move into the stadium for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The Vikings are currently building a new stadium in downtown Minneapolis, which they expect to be completed before the 2016 season.
