Sandusky to face accusers at a preliminary hearing Tuesday

Penn State’s former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky will face some of his alleged victims at a preliminary hearing Tuesday. As many as 10 men could testify publicly for the first time during the hearing, which is expected to last all day.

There have been no plea negotiations with prosecutors and Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, told the Associated Press his client “is looking forward to the opportunity to face his accusers.”

Sandusky is facing more than 50 charges of sexually assaulting children. He was arrested last Wednesday after claims by two new accusers led to new charges.

Cameras and recording equipment will not be allowed in court during the hearing, following the presiding judge’s order, but media will be allowed to text and tweet. The Daily Collegian reported that out of the 200 seats in the courtroom, about 100 will be reserved for members of the media.
