A high speed chase that started in downtown Minneapolis ended at the intersection of Harvard and Delaware streets âÄî a corner of the superblock âÄî Monday night. After police pulled him over for multiple moving violations at the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and 4th Street, Tarise Rodgers, 18, sped away from the police, according to the report. Rodgers and a 17-year-old male passenger led the police on a high-speed chase that ended at the intersection of Harvard and Delaware near the University Medical Center, Fairview around 11 p.m. The two exited the moving vehicle, crashing it into a police car, and ran, Minneapolis 2nd precinct Lt. Greg Reinhardt said. Police chased the suspects on campus and arrested them shortly afterward. Rodgers was charged for stealing and tampering with the car as well as fleeing the police âÄî a felony. He was taken to Hennepin County Jail. The minor was charged with motor vehicle tampering and the police took him to juvenile detention.
