Freshman women's hockey forward Hannah Brandt was named the WCHA Player of the Month for November by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Wednesday. Brandt, who is second on the Gophers in points with 45, had six goals and eight assists in eight games during November.
Noora Räty was honored as the WCHA Defensive Player of the Week after two solid performances last weekend against Wisconsin. Räty recorded 41 saves in Saturday's 4-1 win. On Sunday, she picked up a shutout in a 2-0 victory. She recorded 19 saves, 11 of which came in the first period. The Gophers started slowly in the first periods of both games, and Räty was instrumental in keeping the score tied before the offense got going.
Minnesota will play at Bemidji State this weekend. It will look to set a new NCAA road winning streak record with a win Friday.
