After a two-year absence, the Minnesota baseball team will once again play their 17th Pro-Alumni game on Saturday at 5:05 p.m. at the Metrodome.
The Pro-Alumni team will have numerous familiar names, including the team’s manager Paul Molitor. Players for the team include current major leaguers Robb Quinlan and Jack Hannahan, as well as Nate Hanson and Derek McCallum, both former Gophers currently in the Minnesota Twins’ farm system.
Besides displaying a number of former Gophers, the Pro-Alumni game will also be the first game played by the 2010 Minnesota baseball team. The Gophers are returning 20 starters from a team that finished 40-19 and advanced to the regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
