Gophers football head coach Tim Brewster said that senior wide receiver Eric Decker ran on Sunday and will be able to practice all week in preparation for the Gophers game next Saturday at Northwestern.

Decker, who caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for another on Saturday, sat out the last few series of the game against California as a precaution to avoid further injuring his ankle.  Decker said he "got it rolled up a little bit" in the fourth quarter.  Decker also took a hard hit on his first touchdown and had a cut on his chin stitched on the sideline following the hit by California safety Sean Cattouse.

Brewster also reported that sophomore safety Mike Rallis suffered a broken leg in Saturday’s game, and will have surgery this week.  In three games, Rallis has six total tackles while serving as a special teams player and backup defensive back.

Brewster said that true freshman punter Dan Orseske, whom the team learned Friday has mononucleosis, will be inactive for a minimum of 21 days, which would be up until the night before the Gophers homecoming game against Purdue.  That means the punting duties will go to Blake Haudan for at least the next two weeks.  Haudan made seven punts on Saturday, averaging 42.1 yards per kick.  In two games, Orseske has nine punts for a 44.6-yard average.
