The day after election day – red, blue…purple?

Cody Zwiefelhofer

Tonight, all you’ll be seeing is red and blue. But on Wednesday, you will walk around seeing quite a bit of purple. On Wednesday, Colleges Against Cancer is trying to paint the campus purple to kick off the Relay For Life buzz. The Washington Avenue bridge (and other parts of campus) will have purple posters and balloons, and organizers from CAC will be at Coffman Memorial Union to sign teams up for this year’s event. Registration is $5 if you sign up before November 9, and $10 after, one of the reasons organizers made the event on Wednesday. Relay For Life is an annual fund raising event put on by the American Cancer Society across the country. The main event, on April 17 of 2009, has teams gathering in the Fieldhouse overnight where students can walk laps around the track. Students can sign up in groups of 8 to 15.
